Lake Rules

Compton's Lakes are a stunning place to fish and the rules that we have put in place are to safeguard the fish and to ensure all visitors have an enjoyable time. Please read the rules carefully before you fish as failure to stick to the rules may result in you being asked to leave without a refund. If you have any questions regarding any of these rules please contact us.

  • 3 rods per angler/swim maximum

  • We provide all landing nets, weigh slings, carp mats/cradles. Please do not bring your own!

  • 15lb minimum strain line

  • Barbless or micro-barbed hooks only

  • All anglers must carry carp care kits and treat each fish caught if it requires treatment

  • All fish over 18kg (40lb) to be photographed in the water unless supervised by ourselves

  • When releasing fish after capture please support the fish and give it plenty of time to recover

  • No bullying or mistreatment of fish

  • No sacking of fish, no keep nets or holding fish with cloths​

  • No braided mainline, leadcore or leaders. Magic Twig or any variants of this are banned.

  • No fixed rigs of any kind, rig checks will be carried out

  • Only carp pellet supplied by us to be used

  • All maize/particles must be properly prepared

  • No artificial baits

  • No rods to be left unattended in the water

  • No fish to be removed from the premises or moved from lake to lake. Further action will be taken if this is seen

  • No dogs or any other pets

  • No drones, boats, radios, guns, swimming, fires or drugs

  • Alcohol permitted in moderation, anyone abusing the rule will be asked to leave without a refund

  • Take all litter home with you (applies to customers driving)

  • Spot inspection of equipment may be carried out

Compton's Lakes do not accept any liability for any loss, damage or injury etc however caused

IF ANYONE IS SEEN BREAKING ANY OF THESE RULES LISTED ABOVE WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK YOU TO LEAVE WITHOUT A REFUND AND FURTHER ACTION MAY BE TAKEN.
